Homeschool to College
Personalized degree planning and college success coaching for students making the transition from homeschooling into college.
Your student may be academically prepared for college and still feel unprepared for the system around it.
College introduces fixed schedules, registration rules, prerequisites, degree requirements, online learning platforms, office hours, and deadlines spread across multiple places. Students are also expected to ask for help and manage their time with far less day-to-day guidance.
Which classes should come first?
How much work is realistic during the first semester?
How will previous college, AP, IB, or other credit apply?
What kind of weekly structure will actually work for this student?
The goal is not to replace the strengths of homeschooling. It is to help students carry those strengths into college with a clear plan and practical systems.
Two Ways I Support the Transition
Degree Plan & Academic Roadmap
Once the college and major are identified, we build a semester-by-semester roadmap around general education, major preparation, prerequisites, graduation requirements, and applicable incoming credit.
College Success Coaching
Students learn how to manage the weekly work of college: reading syllabi, tracking deadlines, using Canvas and email, preparing for exams, communicating with instructors, and using tutoring, office hours, accommodations, and other campus resources.
What We Can Work Through
✓ Selecting a realistic first-semester schedule
✓ Understanding degree, major, and general education requirements
✓ Reviewing how previous coursework may apply
✓ Learning registration and advising systems
✓ Managing syllabi, Canvas, email, assignments, and long-term projects
✓ Building routines for studying, planning, and follow-through
✓ Preparing students to advocate for themselves and ask for help
Structure Built Around the Student
College is going to require the hours. The question is whether the student will control those hours—or have those hours control them.
That does not mean forcing every student into the same 8-to-5 schedule. Students need to understand when they focus best, when their energy is strongest, what environments help them work, and when a schedule is becoming unrealistic.
Coaching helps students develop that self-knowledge and use it to build routines they can actually maintain. Over time, the student becomes more confident, more consistent, and more independent.
